This book is a work of fiction. Because its subject is a significant social issue, and because it is set in American academia where faculty, administrators, and even students tend toward categories and thus to stereotypes, some episodes and characters may appear to resemble actual persons or historical events. If the shoe fits, try it on. However, any resemblance to persons living or dead, or events historical, is coincidental.
